From the Amazonas region of Brazil to coastal Mexico to bustling Spanish cities, Laureate students, faculty and staff give back to their communities in big and small ways each and every day. Giving Tuesday started in 2012 as a response to the often excessive commercialization that happens around the holiday season, and provides a chance to celebrate instead the many acts of service and giving that are carried out worldwide by businesses, NGOs and individuals.
Laureate campuses recently participated in the 2016 Global Days of Service initiative which took place throughout the month of October. It was the largest GDS response ever, involving more students, faculty and staff than any other year, and ultimately serving more community members than ever before.
In coming weeks, the HFG blog will feature highlights from the 2016 Global Days of Service.
